Spring Watercolor Class

Instructor Jack Fetzer from North Canton, Ohio has been painting watercolor landscapes for 35 years. He has traveled the country, but he prefers to paint the Ohio scenes he knows best. This 6 week class will meet every Thursday from 3pm-5pm in the Zoar Schoolhouse (located at 221 East 4th Street, Zoar, Ohio 44697) beginning April 23 and ending May 28. FREE Speaker Series

“Mr. Lincoln’s Camera Man: An Afternoon with Mathew Brady.” His photographs of Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War have become icons of the early days of photography. Hear the story from Mathew Brady himself as the world-renowned photographer and chronicler of the American Civil War and the presidency of Abraham Lincoln shares some of his photographs and the stories behind them. Performed by Mark Holbrook. Meet in the historic Zoar Schoolhouse (located at 221 East 4th Street, Zoar, Ohio 44697) from 1pm-2pm.

2nd Annual DogFest of Zoar

Join us in welcoming back the Buckeye DockDogs for another weekend of FREE fun!  Bring your dog, walk the village, and witness a variety of spectacular canine agility competitions!  Hours for the weekend are Saturday and Sunday 9am-6pm. Half-Day Summer Camps

Historic Zoar Village offers half-day summer camps for kids in kindergarten to second grade. Cost is $15/day for first child, $10/day for additional children. To register call 330-874-3011.

Tues., June 16: The Zoar explorers will learn the arts of pretzel making and beekeeping.
Wed., June 17: The kids will take a trip to Zoar Lake for a day surrounded by nature.
Thurs., June 18: The Zoar explorers will learn more about what it was like to grow up in 19th century Zoar Village.
Fri., June 19: Stepping back in time, the explorers will travel to Fort Laurens where they will meet a Revolutionary War soldier.

Beginning Blacksmithing Class

Learn the basics of blacksmithing as you forge a hook and a nail. This class features plenty of time at the anvil while you discover the history of smithing. Class is from 8am to 5pm. Cost is $100/participant (or $90/participant for ZCA members) and includes all instruction, materials, and lunch. Reservations are required, so call 330-874-3011 to save your spot! Limited to four apprentices.

June 23, 2015 – June 26, 2015

Full Day Summer Camps

Historic Zoar Village offers full day summer camps for kids in third to sixth grade. Cost is $35/day for first child, $30/day for additional children. To register call 330-874-3011.

Tues., June 23: The Zoar explorers will begin with a lesson in pretzel making. After lunch, the explorers will learn all about beekeeping.
Wed., June 24: Day 2 will be spent surrounded by nature at Zoar Lake. Campers will also complete the Waters of the Tuscarawas quest and make their very own quest stamp.
Thurs., June 25: The explorers will complete art projects in Zoar.
Fri., June 26: The last day of camp will be spent at Fort Laurens, the site of Ohio’s only Revolutionary War fort. The campers will learn the history of the fort and spend time with a Revolutionary War soldier.

Intermediate Blacksmithing Class

Students will spend all day at the forge working on a project to take home. Project may include leaf work, fullering, horseshoes, fire poker or rake, paper towel or bathroom tissue holder. Class is from 8am to 5pm. Cost is $125/participant (or $112.50/participant for ZCA members) and includes all instruction, materials, and lunch. Reservations are required, so call 330-874-3011 to save your spot. Participant must have completed the Beginning Blacksmithing Class to register. Limited to three apprentices.

42nd Annual Harvest Festival & Antique Show

Experience the harvest in Zoar Village! Tour all of our historic buildings, shop from high quality artisans and antique dealers, enjoy the juried craft and art show, and learn from a variety of historic demonstrators! With so much to see, you’ll want to spend the weekend with us! It’s FREE to walk the village and shop the craft show. Cost to tour the Antique Show, Artisan Tent, and historic museum buildings is $8/adult and children 12 and under are FREE! Hours are Saturday, August 1 from 10am-5pm and Sunday, August 2 from 10am-4pm.
