Experience all the joy and cheer of the season during our Christmas in Zoar event on December 5, 2026. We also have Christmas Tours available on multiple weekends.
Date: December 5, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Experience Historic Zoar Village in all its Christmas splendor! Listen to live, festive music as you learn about early American and German holiday traditions. Other activities include horse-drawn wagon rides through the town, a Saturday church service and tree lighting, and visits from Kristkind, the German Belsnickel, and Santa. Self-guided tours and Christmas tours of the village will be available.
Still on the hunt for the perfect gift? Find a variety of unique and handmade gifts with extended shopping opportunities at the Zoar Store, Bakery, Bimeler Museum, and vendors and crafters located throughout the village.

Please note December 5th tours are self-guided only and can take place at any time.

Learn about the rich history of German and American Christmas customs while enjoying the festive atmosphere of Zoar’s charming, historically preserved village. It’s a perfect way to celebrate the season and immerse yourself in a unique holiday experience that’s fun for the whole family!
Guided tours (Nov. 28 & Dec. 12th only) take you around the village as you hear the stories and history of Christmas past.
Christmas in Zoar is a free event, however Christmas Tours are $15 for adults and free for children 12 and under.
Each year it is up to each private resident to decide if they would like to have their home open for the event.
