Renovations Complete for the Tomb of the Unknown Patriot
The Tomb of the Unknown Patriot has officially been upgraded! Come by and pay your respects at the newly updated memorial, featuring a new monument, flagpoles, masonry repairs, and landscaping enhancements. Thank you to the Ohio History Connection, Sons of the American Revolution, and everyone else who helped make this happen.

SAR Changing of the Guard and Memorial Service – July 24 & 25
On July 24, the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) will perform a traditional D.C.-style Changing of the Guard ceremony in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Patriot approximately every 15 to 20 minutes. We kindly ask attendees to keep quiet and avoid interruptions during the ceremony.
The SAR will hold a memorial service the following day at 10:30 am, featuring guest speakers, presentations, and a wreath-laying ceremony.
Both events are free and open to the public.

Faces of the American Revolution – August 1 & 2
Bring the whole family for a memorable day of stories, history, and patriotic fun, perfect for celebrating America 250! Meet notable people from national and local history, such as George Washington, Lachlan McIntosh, William McKinley, Charles Thomson, and more.
Archaeology School Day – October 2
Students can celebrate National Archaeology Month at Fort Laurens’ Fall School Day! This event is open to public, private, and homeschooled students of all ages. All activities meet Ohio educational standards.
